It has taken AM many months of effort to reproduce this forgotten historic hemp fibre treatment for linen, with its softness, comfort and quality. Our treatment ensures we respect the green aspect of the fibre, by following the ecological route.

After much research and trial and error, we unveiled our patented process for nature-based dyes which ensures colours remain resilient and easily reproducible, and water consumption and waste is minimised. Unlike the “synthetic fixture” used by many others, we instead use Bee Wax, Aloe Vera or linen oil, which both stabilises and softens our fabrics.

A slight change in colour after the first set of washes is not unusual, and results in an aesthetic natural, “washed-out” look on the fabric without removing the depth of colours, often a problem for many naturally died materials. The more our fabrics are washed, the more supple they become, comparable to fennel or silk.

Our stock is limited according to natural dye harvesting availability, and colours may vary according to shades obtained. We cannot guarantee exact similar colour from separate runs. We treat and work our fabric in harmony with what nature offers without interferences. Thank you for your understanding.
