In the course of the hemp

Again the quality of the threads and the attention given to their treatment is now modernised, giving it an innovative aspect, as well as reviving a long forgotten fibre.

The hemp materials we fabricate are extremely natural and integrate easily compared to linen, due to texture density and strength. Our meticulous approach has allowed us to highlight the nobility of the fibre and to maintain French craftsmanship origin.

This also means using less gluing and causing less pollution. The material receives a mechanical treatment which extracts the naturally rich essence of the long hemp fibre, offering a sharp and soft touch at the same time.

At the end of 2005, France was the world’s number one producer of hemp with 50% (9100 hectares) of worldwide production.

In the course of the hemp

Presently it is not possible to work with organic hemp since its cultivation has not yet been sufficiently developed.

We have explained that hemp represents a big potential advantage for the environment.

However hemp cultivated without proper control and regulation, and without labels becomes once again a pollutant like many other plant-based fabrics in spite of its potential ecological virtues. Americans and Russians are working on producing seeds to promote these environmentally unfriendly methods. The only way to ensure safe methods is to work with the organic Hemp labels.

If such labels attract sufficient demand the organic drive will continue to grow and provide the level of benefit needed to make an environmental difference. Our objective is to offer a hemp fibre produced organically from French soil.
